Outside Hydrants

All outside hydrants must have some
form of backflow protection inservice.
Vacume Breakers are the general rule.
Any newly installed hydrant must have
a factory installed vacume breaker built in.

Older existing hydrants may not have
a vacume breaker inplace. These add on
vacume breakers are available to help bring
your hydrant up to code.

A shut off valve must also be installed
and all placed in an easily accessible box.

All mentioned above is plumbing code
anywhere in Garland County.
When any work is preformed on any hydrant
that does not meet these standards, plumbers
and home owners alike are required to bring
them up to code.
